42nd Sendai Aoba Festival – Reserved Seating (Sales Starting Soon)

Step into the heart of Sendai’s most iconic celebration.
The Sendai Aoba Festival is a beloved annual event that captures the spirit of the “City of Trees,” transforming the city into a vibrant showcase of tradition, music, and color over two unforgettable days.

Reserved seating will be available along Jozenji-dori Avenue, one of the festival’s most popular viewing areas. Enjoy comfortable viewing from a guaranteed seat while watching the energetic Suzume Odori (Sparrow Dance) and the magnificent Jidai Emaki procession—an immersive experience that brings Japanese history to life.

Day 1: Yoimatsuri (Evening Festival)

As night falls, the streets glow with lantern light, traditional music fills the air, and beautifully illuminated Yoiyamaboko parade floats create a truly magical atmosphere.

Day 2: Honmatsuri (Main Festival)

Witness the grand Jidai Emaki historical procession, where performers in authentic costumes recreate the elegance and energy of Japan’s Edo period.
